New Year again…

It’s almost new year again! This time I am heading back to my parents. As always on new years day it’s my mum’s birthday (I’d be shocked if that changed!) and the family are getting together. There are a few people that are there as well who I haven’t seen in a while. We have some family and friends who are heading down to the get together. One of them is our friends Peter and June. We first met them on a family holiday to Cyprus. They are brilliant fun. They are from Yorkshire and live life to the fullest!

Peter is very practical. He loves working outside and doing things to keep active. June is very laid back. She just lets life wash over her. She likes technical things, often asks me for help with her laptop and has recently bought a kindle. One of the jobs I have when I get back to my parents is to show her how to find all the free books available in the kindle store.

Before I go… this will be my last post of 2010. I wish everyone a happy new year.

Fireworks night

I’ve just got back from Scouts tonight after helping build the bonfire in Ewell. I wasn’t really prepared for the size of the thing. It’s massive. I don’t want to be anywhere near the thing when it gets lit. There was so much wood on it. most of it was piled up when we got there but was quite spread out.

Quite looking forward to the night and seeing what the fireworks will look like!

Accident on A3 This Morning

There was a smash up on the A3 this morning and it’s an accident waiting to happen! If there are any traffic police officers looking at this they should take note and see if there is something that can be done.

Just by the M25 (South Bound) the “slow” lane of the A3 becomes the slip road for the M25 and the other 2 lanes carry on. Usually the middle lane gets blocked by idiots (usually driving Mercedes or BMW’s) who think they’ll try to skip out most of the queue of traffic in the slip road and jump in just before the lane peels off. This means they have to stop in the middle lane and try to squeeze into the queue of traffic.

Most people in the queue who have waited patiently are often disgruntled and won’t let people in. Fair play to them I say. This means people are left stopped in the middle lane of the A3 where there are several people trying to head to South. This morning the inevitable happened… someone who was trying to squeeze in got smashed into from behind by another car.

I feel sorry for the person who hit them because it’ll probably go on their insurance but it’s really not their fault. I’d argue tooth and nail that the person stopping in the middle of a busy road is to blame. They were also a newly passed driver with “P” plates on the car. As for the idiot trying to queue jump… I hope his car is a write off (as long as no one got hurt all is well) and he ends up driving around in a banger for a good few months.

Any way… to today will be fun! I’m sitting a Agile Project Management Practitioner exam on Thursday so need to be on the ball! Sitting it with TCC Training and Consultancy.

Office Move

We’ve moved! We are now part of the big centre that is Surrey Technology Centre. We moved in today and it’s still quite disorganised. We’ve got boxes everywhere and no proper desks for another few days. Hopefully this will be good. Best part… we have a 30MB internet connection both upload and download! That’s immense! Fun Fun
