My name is Rob Shipley. I’m a Software Developer, Business Analyst, Project Manager and Trainer. I started working in IT in 2004 after graduating from Cardiff University. At the time I got a job working for LogicaCMG (Now Logica). I got a great many opportunities with Logica and it was here that I started to think about moving into Project Management and the business side of IT.
In 2007 I left Logica to work for TCC Training and Consultancy. Since joining them I’ve taken many qualifications including DSDM Atern Foundation (working on Practitioner), Agile Project Leadnership, Workshop Facilitation, PRINCE2, ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis and Agile Project Management Practitioner.
Recently I’ve started to run courses in Business Analysis for TCC. This is quite enjoyable but I still keep my hand in a Development work. This allows me to obtain a view of projects from both a Management/Business perspective and a Technical side. I believe this to be missing from several organisations who have contracted Project Managers or people who have gone straight into Managerial roles without the experience of “On the factory floor”.
