Also do take the time to test any upgrades you make especially if you have some custom modules installed. The upgrader in SugarCRM does not take into account modules and several modules are not compatible with the most recent version of SugarCRM. This took me a considerable amount of time to figure out. We ended up upgrading to the most recent but one module rather than the most recent as our installed modules were not compatible.
